About Illinois Space Grant Consortium

Illinois Space Grant Consortium was established in 1989 as part of NASA’s National Space Grant College and Fellowship Program with the goal of contributing to the nation's science enterprise by funding education, research and public engagement projects through a national network of university-based consortia. Among its objectives is to encourage cooperative programs among universities; aerospace industry; and government; and recruit and train U.S. citizens, especially women, underrepresented minorities, and persons with disabilities. Staying true to NASA’s original goals, ISGC has members with a wide range of individual strengths to contribute to the balance of ISGC programs and provided geographic coverage to the entire state. Through various programs, we are making positive contributions to the science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) literacy of Illinois’ residents.
